It is 6:45 AM on a chilly Tuesday morning. Sixty high school soccer players are lined up on the touchline ready for preseason speed and agility testing.

An assistant coach stands at the finish line with a thumb stopwatch, squinting into the morning glare, trying to match jersey numbers called out across the pitch while scribbling handwritten times onto a damp paper clipboard.

Every soccer coach has lived this scene. And every soccer coach knows its fundamental flaw: a manual thumb stopwatch is too slow—and too stressful—for modern player evaluation.

Today, we are thrilled to share a sneak peek at the next evolution of high school combine testing: the Objective 11 Wireless Laser Timing & RFID System—and proudly announce Valdosta High School as our official Flagship Design Partner.

Wireless, Effortless, Automatic • How It Works on the Pitch
STEP 1 // TAP IN
Athlete Self-Check-In

The player taps their RFID wristband or tag at the start cone. A quick beep confirms their name and gets the timer ready—no coach scrolling through a roster.

STEP 2 // RUN
Wireless Laser Gates

The clock starts automatically the instant the player breaks the starting beam and stops the moment they cross the finish line.

STEP 3 // DONE
Automatic Score Sync

The player's exact time flows straight into Objective 11, updating their Player Scorecard and Live Depth Chart before they even walk back to the line.

1. Goodbye Stopwatches, Goodbye Clipboards

Anyone who has ever timed sprints with a handheld stopwatch knows how easy it is for human reaction time to swing a result by two-tenths of a second. On a 30-meter sprint, two-tenths of a second is the entire difference between a Junior Varsity prospect and a Varsity starter.

Just as important, running a combine with stopwatches and clipboards pulls coaches away from coaching. Instead of watching a player's first-step posture, footwork, or hip turn, coaches are stuck staring at a stopwatch screen and typing numbers into a phone.

We designed the Objective 11 Wireless Laser Timing System so coaches never have to touch a stopwatch or a clipboard again.

2. Tap, Sprint, Done: How It Works

We built the system around three simple goals: wireless setup in under a minute, athlete self-registration, and 100% automatic scoring.

1. Players Check Themselves In with an RFID Tap

Every athlete gets a lightweight RFID band or tag tied to their Objective 11 profile. When it is their turn at the starting line, they simply tap their tag on the station reader:

  • The gate beeps to let the player know they are checked in and ready to go.
  • Coaches don't have to call out jersey numbers, search through a 60-player roster in the sun, or keep players in a rigid alphabetical line. Any player can step up, tap in, and run.

2. Wireless Laser Gates Handle the Timing

The start and finish gates talk to each other wirelessly right out of the bag—no tangled wires across the field and no complicated setup:

  • The timer starts the exact instant the athlete bursts through the starting beam.
  • The timer stops automatically the moment they cross the finish gate, giving every athlete the exact same fair, electronic measurement every single time.

3. Scores Appear Automatically on Every Scorecard

The moment the athlete finishes their rep, the time is sent straight into Objective 11:

  • The score is matched to the player who tapped in, saved to today's practice session, and added to their 6-Pillar Hexagon and Player Scorecard automatically.
  • By the time the athlete jogs back to the end of the line, they can already see whether they just set a new Personal Best.

3. Flagship Design Partner: Valdosta High School Soccer

Great coaching tools aren't built in an office—they are shaped on the grass alongside real players and coaches.

We are thrilled to announce that Valdosta High School in Valdosta, Georgia, will be the very first program to bring the Objective 11 Wireless Laser Timing & RFID System onto the training pitch as our Official Flagship Design Partner.

Working side-by-side with the Valdosta High School coaching staff and student-athletes, we are fine-tuning the on-field experience across live Varsity and Junior Varsity sessions—making sure a coaching staff can run 50+ players through speed and agility stations in minutes without a single piece of paper.

4. Coming Soon to Objective 11 Member Programs

Until now, wireless electronic timing gates have cost thousands of dollars and required clumsy spreadsheets that never connected to your roster or player profiles.

Following our field partnership with Valdosta High School, production units of the Objective 11 Wireless Laser Timing & RFID System will be available for purchase to all Objective 11 member programs—plugging straight into your Objective 11 Coaching OS right out of the box.
